PRA announces partnership with Safinah in Marine & Protective coatings consultancy

PRA (Paint Research Association) is pleased to announce the formation of a new partnership with Safinah Ltd to provide an expanded global consultancy for the Marine & Protective coatings industry.

For many years PRA has provided independent technical investigation and inspection services for marine and protective coatings, although sometimes limited in geographic reach. As part of its mission to be the essential connector in the global surface coatings industry, in support of innovation and growth of its member companies, PRA can now provide a truly global response to marine and protective coatings technical problems and disputes.

Founded in 1998, Safinah specialises in providing independent advice and training on the whole chain of activities that links ships, structures, coatings and the environment. With a strong track record in Marine consultancy, Safinah complements PRA's emphasis on Protective coatings and independent laboratory investigations and together the two teams will be able to quickly identify the best consultant to respond to client's issues.

Commenting on the partnership, Jonathan Bourne – Managing Director, PRA said, "We are delighted that Safinah has joined as Associate Members of PRA and agreed to work together for the benefit of both our organisations and our clients. Between us we have a significantly expanded capacity to address a wide range of coatings related issues in the global Marine & Protective markets".

Raouf Kattan – Managing Director, Safinah said, "The world of marine coatings is becoming ever more complex as new coating systems and environmental regulations are introduced. The need for comprehensive, independent, multi-disciplinary advice is demanded by our clients. The partnership with PRA is another step in Safinah providing advice on the whole process from chemical formulation through to dispute resolution."
